What do Friends of Benromach say about our whisky?
At Benromach, we believe that life is better when shared with others – and the same can certainly be said for whisky too.
From the people closest to us, our friends and family, to those around the world who we may only ever meet online, there is a lot to be said about the value of shared experiences. And while our similarities may be what brings us together in conversation, it’s often our differences that can enrich those conversations. Such differences, especially in how we appreciate whisky and what a whisky means to us, are things to be celebrated.
For this reason, we wanted to take some time to share your stories about Benromach whisky, written in your words.
The perfect introduction
On Instagram, we asked which three drams would be in your line-up if you were introducing our whisky to a friend for the first time. Here is one response that caught our attention:
“I would start with the Benromach organic. Great starter whisky it’s what got me started drinking whisky we like to call it a breakfast whisky! Then I would have the Benromach 10 good classic whisky which shows the best of Speyside. Then move onto the peat smoke for something a bit different.”
This is a wonderful tasting recommendation from @scottishwhiskygal, leading us on a gradual progression through the peatiness of our whisky. The subtle smoky character of Benromach grows with each whisky as you climb up the ppm levels, from our smooth Benromach Contrasts: Organic to the heavily-peated Peat Smoke.
As well as adding depth of character, the Benromach Contrasts range adds great breadth to the Benromach experience. Beginning and ending a tasting with these two whiskies is a perfect way to introduce someone to the full spectrum of character our distillers produce.

Discovering Benromach 10 Year Old
Our ‘Ben 10’ is a highly decorated whisky, having won awards every year for as long as we can remember. Much of that success is down to you – the Friends of Benromach – and the continued support and appreciation you have demonstrated for our flagship single malt. Here is what Dennis & Dion at @WhiskyConsultants.nl had to say when they first discovered our core range:
“Benromach 10 definitely exists on our short list of whiskies that everyone should have in their cabinet.”
“In good company with the cask strength release and the 15yo, the 10yo is still my favourite. The balance between very subtle Speyside peat, a creamy mouthfeel, the ABV and the fruitiness are just right. And it offers some surprising flavours as well”
Dennis & Dion go on to share their tasting notes for our Benromach 10-Year-Old, describing both blueberry yoghurt and kiwi fruit, with old books and theatrical smoke. Unusual and intriguing, yet more than welcome, this is the feedback we love to hear. Being so intricately connected to our individual memories, the taste and aroma that we each identify in whisky will often differ significantly, resulting in wholly firsthand experiences – special and unique.
